Porteuses de vie, les femmes et les filles représentent dans toutes les sociétés du monde une catégorie qui est souvent victime de violence conjugale, institutionnelle, sexuelle et sociale. Cette situation attire l’attention de l’Organisation des Nations Unies (ONU), des organisations et associations de femmes en Haïti travaillant dans le domaine des droits humains et des droits des femmes.
Les femmes et les filles sont constamment victimes de toutes sortes de violences et d’inégalité sociale. Dans un rapport publié en date du 7 septembre 2023, ONU-FEMME révèle que plus de 340 millions de femmes et de filles, soit environ 8 % de la population féminine mondiale, vivront dans l’extrême pauvreté d’ici 2030, et une (1) femme sur quatre (4), connaîtra une insécurité alimentaire modérée ou grave, si les tendances actuelles se poursuivent, prévient l’étude.
Ce rapport souligne que le nombre de femmes et de filles qui vivent dans un contexte de conflit a augmenté de manière significative, avec des conséquences catastrophiques et a atteint 614 millions en 2022, soit 50% de plus qu’en 2017.
De telles situations n’épargnent aucune catégorie y compris les femmes agées, dont moins de la moitié seulement bénéficient d’une pension. Au rythme actuel, on estime qu’à l’échelle mondiale, 110 millions de filles et de jeunes femmes ne seront pas scolarisées d’ici 2030.
A ceci s’ajoute, le bilan désastreux quant à la violence entre partenaires, à l’égalité de sexe, aux disparités de salaire et de revenu, regrette l’agence onusienne.
A ce propos, L’ONU lance des appels à une approche intégrée et globale, à une collaboration accrue entre les parties prenantes, à un financement continu et à des actions politiques pour lutter contre les disparités entre les sexes et autonomiser les femmes et les filles dans le monde entier.
La violence constitue un fléau qui frappe les femmes et les filles en haïti, l’organisation Solidarité Fanm Ayisyèn (SOFA), menant un combat de tous les instants contre les violences et la pauvreté qui frappent les femmes et les filles, croît qu’il importe de concentrer l’action sur l’entraide pour sortir les femmes de leurs situations de vulnérabilité.
