Alors que la menace du choléra persiste en Haïti, le Ministère de la Santé Publique et de la Population (MSPP), par le biais de sa Direction Sanitaire de l’Ouest (DSO), dresse un nouveau bilan de la situation. Dans un rapport couvrant la période du 13 au 22 avril 2025, les autorités sanitaires ont recensé 21 nouvelles admissions de cas suspects dans cinq centres de traitement de la région métropolitaine.
En effet, sur dix lits disponibles à l’Hôpital Saint Luc situé à Tabarre, huit sont occupés. L’établissement fonctionne presque à pleine capacité à la date du 22 avril. Cette situation est similaire à Croix-des-Bouquets, où le centre Sainte Camille affiche sept lits occupés sur dix.
En revanche, Carrefour reste plus ou moins calme face à cette hausse. Aucun cas n’a été admis à l’Hôpital Raoul Pierre Louis, disposé à cet effet, pendant la période. À Cité-Soleil, cinq cas ont été enregistrés au Centre Hospitalier de Fontaine, mais seuls deux lits étaient occupés à la fin du suivi. Du côté de l’Arcahaie, le centre de Fond-Baptiste est resté quasi vide, avec une seule admission et cinq lits libres.
Selon le document, l’analyse du taux d’occupation des lits révèle une hausse marquée autour du 18 avril : 79 % des capacités disponibles ont été mobilisées. Toutefois, ce taux a chuté à 34 % le 22 avril, en raison d’une baisse temporaire des cas signalés.
Le MSPP appelle à la continuité des mesures de prévention, notamment l’accès à l’eau potable, l’assainissement et la sensibilisation communautaire, afin de contenir les risques d’une nouvelle flambée.
