Après le passage de l’ouragan dévastateur Melissa sur les côtes haïtiennes, le Système National de Gestion des Risques et Désastres (SNGRD), en coordination avec la Direction Générale de la Protection Civile (DGPC), a indiqué, ce jeudi 30 octobre 2025, que toutes les alertes rouge et orange avaient été levées. Tous les départements sont désormais au vert, car Haïti n’est plus sous la menace de l’ouragan Melissa.
Selon le Directeur Général de la Protection Civile, Emmanuel PIERRE, le bilan s’est alourdi avec l’ajout de six nouvelles victimes, portant à 30 le nombre de personnes décédées, dont 23 dans le département de l’Ouest, une dans l’Artibonite et les autres dans le Sud et la Grande-Anse. Plus de 20 personnes ont été blessées, tandis qu’une vingtaine reste portée disparue. Les infrastructures ont également subi d’importants dégâts : routes endommagées, ponts détruits et cultures agricoles ravagées. Au total, 2 399 familles ont été sinistrées, a précisé le Responsable
Emmanuel PIERRE a exprimé ses condoléances aux familles des victimes, rappelant son soutien aux proches des personnes décédées, que ce soit dans les inondations ou dans des habitations détruites lors du passage de Melissa.
Pour ce qui est de la circulation, Monsieur PIERRE a indiqué que le Ministère des Travaux Publics, Transports et Communications (MTPTC) avait pris des mesures aux glissements de terrain sur la route de Rampe. Cette route reliant le Sud à la Grande-Anse a désormais été remise en circulation, tandis que des passages temporaires sont en cours d’aménagement au niveau de la localité où se trouve la rivière Gosseline dans le Sud-Est, en attendant la réparation des routes principales
Concernant les transports et l’assistance à la population, Il a précisé que tous les vols avaient repris et que l’interdiction de navigation en mer avait été levée. Le Ministère des Affaires Sociales et du Travail (MAST), en partenariat avec le Fonds d’Assistance Économique et Sociale (FAES), met en place des mesures pour renforcer l’assistance, avec des kits supplémentaires qui viendront compléter ceux déjà prépositionnés.
Emmanuel PIERRE a conclu en rappelant que toutes les familles ayant perdu un proche seront contactées par les autorités locales de leur département. Il a précisé que le SNGRD, en coordination avec la DGPC et le MICT, s’assure que le soutien nécessaire sera apporté pour les funérailles et l’accompagnement des familles touchées.
