Le Ministre du Commerce et de l’Industrie, James MONAZARD, a rencontré l’Ambassadeur du Mexique en Haïti, Jesús CISNEROS, hier lundi 13 avril 2026. Cette réunion a porté sur la relance des échanges commerciaux entre les deux pays, avec un accent sur le commerce bilatéral, la diversification industrielle et l’attraction d’investissements, notamment dans le secteur textile.
Les deux responsables ont discuté des perspectives de renforcement des relations économiques. Ils ont abordé plusieurs mécanismes destinés à faciliter les échanges, en particulier en matière d’importation et d’exportation, dans un contexte marqué par les efforts de relance de l’économie haïtienne.
Au cours des échanges, les interlocuteurs ont souligné l’importance pour Haïti de diversifier ses partenaires économiques, afin de réduire sa dépendance et d’élargir ses débouchés commerciaux. Ils ont également évoqué l’utilisation de dispositifs préférentiels, dont la loi HELP, pour soutenir les exportations et améliorer la compétitivité des entreprises locales.
Le secteur textile a été identifié comme un axe prioritaire de coopération. Les discussions ont porté sur les complémentarités entre les deux pays, notamment en matière de main-d’œuvre et de capacités industrielles, avec pour objectif de soutenir la production et l’emploi.
Par ailleurs, le Ministre a présenté les actions engagées par son institution pour encourager l’investissement et l’entrepreneuriat. Il a notamment évoqué la mise en place de huit incubateurs d’entreprises à travers le pays, destinés à accompagner les porteurs de projets et à structurer le tissu économique.
Les deux parties ont convenu de poursuivre les échanges techniques, afin de concrétiser ces orientations et d’identifier des projets d’investissement à court terme.
En marge de cette rencontre, le titulaire du MCI, James MONAZARD, s’est également entretenu avec Nicolas FORRISSIEZ, Ministre délégué chargé du Commerce extérieur français. Les discussions ont porté sur l’exportation des produits haïtiens vers les marchés français et européens.
