OAVCT : 58 ans au service de la sécurité routière et de nouvelles réformes en vue
L’Office d’Assurance Véhicule Contre Tiers (OAVCT) a célébré, ce lundi 22 septembre 2025, son 58ᵉ anniversaire à l’hôtel Karibe. La cérémonie a réuni plusieurs personnalités gouvernementales, dont le Conseiller-Président Frinel JOSEPH, le Ministre du Commerce et de l’Industrie (MCI), James MONAZARD, ainsi que le Directeur Général du Ministère de l’Économie et des Finances (MEF), Jean Bouco JEAN JACQUES. Chacun a salué le parcours de l’institution et insisté sur la nécessité de poursuivre les réformes pour améliorer ses performances et offrir un service plus efficace à la population.
Dans son intervention, le Conseiller-Président Frinel JOSEPH a souligné qu’il s’agissait d’un moment de fierté et de responsabilité partagée. Il a rappelé que, depuis sa création en date du 21 septembre 1967, l’OAVCT joue un rôle clé en garantissant un cadre légal aux propriétaires et conducteurs de véhicules. Selon lui, il est du devoir de l’État de poser un regard lucide sur les services offerts et sur les défis à relever, afin de continuer à protéger et servir la population.
De son côté, Jean Bouco JEAN JACQUES a rappelé que l’OAVCT « s’est construit pierre après pierre » et que cet anniversaire doit être l’occasion de se tourner résolument vers l’avenir. Il a réaffirmé l’engagement du Ministère de l’Économie et des Finances (MEF), à accompagner l’institution pour qu’elle remplisse pleinement sa mission et renforce sa crédibilité.
Pour sa part, le Directeur Général de l’OAVCT, Pierre Jean Raymond ANDRÉ, a présenté les principales actions entreprises pour moderniser l’institution. Trois axes ont été prioritaires : la gestion des arriérés hérités des précédentes administrations, le remaniement des services pour accélérer le traitement des dossiers et un vaste projet de digitalisation des cartes d’assurance. Cette dernière initiative permettra, selon lui, un accès plus simple et rapide aux services de l’OAVCT. Il a également annoncé la mise en place prochaine d’un centre d’appel et le développement de projets d’interconnexion avec d’autres pays de la Caraïbe et d’Amérique du Sud, dans le cadre d’une coopération régionale.
« Ces initiatives s’inscrivent dans une vision d’Haïti mieux protégé et mieux organisé », a-t-il martelé.
Cette célébration, a-t-il conclu, marque une étape importante dans son engagement à faire de l’OAVCT une institution plus réactive, moderne et transparente, capable de répondre aux besoins croissants de la population et de jouer un rôle clé dans la sécurité routière.
