La Ministre de la Planification et de la Coopération Externe, Sandra PAULEMON, a rencontré, ce mercredi 1er avril 2026, l’Ambassadrice de l’Union Européenne en Haïti, Hélène ROOS. Les échanges ont porté sur la sécurité, l’organisation des élections et l’efficacité de l’aide internationale.
L’Union Européenne a réaffirmé son engagement politique et financier en faveur de la stabilité et du développement du pays. Lors de cette rencontre, la Ministre PAULEMON a présenté la feuille de route du Gouvernement.
L’Ordonnateur National du Fonds Européen de Développement, Charles JEAN-JACQUES, a également participé aux discussions, centrées sur les priorités nationales et le développement durable.
La Ministre a rappelé que la sécurité et l’organisation des élections sont des priorités immédiates. Elle a insisté sur l’importance de l’alignement de l’aide internationale sur les objectifs concrets du Gouvernement. Selon elle, l’assistance doit produire des résultats tangibles, et non se limiter à une aide continue.
De son côté, l’Ambassadrice Hélène ROOS a confirmé le soutien de l’Union Européenne. Elle a précisé que l’UE agit comme partenaire politique et financier, avec la stratégie « Global Gateway », visant des investissements dans l’énergie, le transport et l’agro-industrie.
Le financement total de l’UE pour Haïti s’élève à 360 millions d’euros, dont 33 millions d’euros restent à décaisser en appui budgétaire direct.
L’Union Européenne intervient également dans la sécurité, la reconstruction des infrastructures, le processus électoral et l’aide sociale. Les deux parties ont convenu de renforcer leur coopération, en favorisant transparence, cohérence et efficacité.
Cette rencontre marque un pas important vers un partenariat durable, visant à soutenir la stabilité, les élections libres et le développement économique du pays.
