Une nouvelle commission communale, dirigée par Mikel-Ange MORISSEAU, a été installée, le lundi 25 mai 2026, à Fonds-des-Nègres. Cette équipe succède à Gadnor AUGUSTIN, qui dirigeait la mairie de cette commune depuis dix ans.
La cérémonie officielle s’est déroulée sur la place publique de la commune, juste après la prestation de serment d’usage au Tribunal de paix. C’est le secrétaire général de la Délégation des Nippes, Benoit ULYSSE, qui a procédé à l’investiture de la nouvelle équipe. Celle-ci est composée de la présidente Mikel-Ange MORISSEAU et de deux membres : Laure France Gabrielle ULYSSE et Onel EXUMÉ.
L’événement a rassemblé le cartel sortant, des notables locaux ainsi que plusieurs dizaines de citoyens. Des autorités de la région ont également assisté à cette passation de pouvoir, notamment le vice-délégué de l’arrondissement de Miragoâne, le commissaire du gouvernement Guy MONDÉLUS et le chef de la police locale, Charles FRANÇOIS.
Lors de son allocution, le #1 du Cartel intérimaire a souligné que sa gestion s’inscrirait dans la continuité administrative et le service public. Consciente du contexte actuel difficile, elle a mis l’accent sur la propreté urbaine comme première priorité, tout en promettant une gouvernance transparente basée sur la collaboration avec la société civile et les employés municipaux.
À titre de rappel, cette installation concrétise l’arrêté publié le vendredi 15 mai dernier, dans le journal officiel du pays, Le Moniteur. Cet arrêté, pris en Conseil des ministres, nommait ledit cartel intérimaire pour administrer la commune de Fonds-des-Nègres jusqu’aux prochaines élections.
