Manifestation contre l’insécurité : La police réprime les protestataires face à son incapacité à garantir leur sécurité
Des milliers de manifestants ont défilé dans les rues de la capitale, ce mercredi 2 avril 2025, pour dénoncer l’insécurité croissante et la domination des gangs armés, notamment la coalition « Viv Ansanm », qui terrorise plusieurs quartiers du pays. Ils exigent des actions immédiates et concrètes du gouvernement.
Baptisée « Mercredi Noir », ce mouvement populaire a fait couler de l’encre.
En effet, les protestataires, venus de quartiers comme Canapé-Vert, Lalue, Turgeau, Débussy, Pacot, Bourdon, Juvénat, ainsi que des déplacés de Carrefour-Feuilles et Solino, ont convergé vers les principales artères de la capitale pour exprimer leur colère face à la violence des gangs.
Certains manifestants étaient armés de machettes et de bâtons et ils dénonçaient les meurtres, les pillages et les incendies de maisons et de commerces commis par les gangs. L’un d’eux portait une pancarte sur laquelle on pouvait lire : «Les bandits m’ont mis dehors avec ma femme. La personne qui m’a hébergé chez lui a pris ma femme.»
Dès l’aube, la capitale a été secouée par des barricades de pneus enflammés à Delmas 62 et 95, ainsi qu’à Pétion-Ville et Péguy-Ville, où des câbles de la compagnie Natcom ont été incendiés. Parallèlement, un important dispositif sécuritaire a été déployé autour de la Primature, de la Villa d’Acceuil et d’autres sites stratégiques. Plusieurs écoles ont fermé leurs portes et de nombreuses entreprises et chauffeurs ont cessé leurs activités.
Arrivés devant la Villa d’Accueil, les manifestants ont scandé des slogans hostiles à la police. Un citoyen a interpellé les policiers présents : «Vous avez une famille. Si vous lancez des gaz lacrymogènes, c’est parce que vous êtes des voleurs.»
Les tensions ont rapidement dégénéré lorsque la police a utilisé des gaz lacrymogènes pour disperser la foule. Les manifestants ont riposté en renvoyant les bonbonnes de gaz, ce qui a poussé les forces de l’ordre à faire usage de tirs réels. Des cris de protestation, tels que « Pote boure ! », ont résonné parmi les manifestants.
Après plusieurs affrontements, la police a dispersé la foule. Les protestataires ont dénoncé la répression, estimant qu’elle entravait leur droit à manifester. Un citoyen a accusé les forces de l’ordre de collusion avec les gangs, affirmant que des véhicules blindés étaient souvent remis aux criminels lors des opérations. «C’est inacceptable ! Les policiers se contentent de lancer des gaz lacrymogènes sur la population, alors que nous réclamons la sécurité dans le pays», a-t-il déclaré.
Pendant ce temps, la violence des gangs continue de provoquer des déplacements massifs de populations dans plusieurs régions du pays. Les manifestants reprochent à la Police Nationale d’Haïti (#PNH) de privilégier la répression des manifestations au détriment de la lutte contre les groupes criminels.
