Les éminentes personnalités de la CARICOM séjourneront, pour une quatrième fois, à Port-au-Prince du 6 au 14 décembre 2023, comme annoncé par notre rédaction depuis le mois dernier. Elles auront à rencontrer les acteurs socio-politiques en vue d’initier, à nouveau, des pourparlers entres les protagonistes afin de les aider à parvenir à un accord politique après plusieurs tentatives infructueuses. Cette visite sera, sans l’ombre des doutes, considérée comme la dernière pour cette année.
Environ trois semaines après avoir proposé, soit le 22 Novembre 2023, une nouvelle transition de 18 mois comme alternative à la crise haïtienne, le groupe des Personnalités Éminentes (GPE) de la CARICOM est attendu à Port-au-Prince du 6 au 14 Décembre. Ces personnalités foueleront le sol haïtien pour tenter de convaincre les acteurs politiques à s’entendre autour d’un nouvel accord politique.
Dans sa nouvelle mission, la délégation de la CARICOM prévoit de lancer les négociations le 7 décembre prochain, si rien ne change. En effet, la venue du Groupe des Personnalités Éminentes de la CARICOM suscite déjà de vagues réactions au sein de la classe politique haïtienne.
Pour certains acteurs proches du pouvoir, le pays doit trouver un consensus politique au plus vite pour sortir du bourbier. Pour parvenir à cette fin, ils encouragent l’opposition à faire œuvre qui vaille pour mettre un terme à la crise qui a trop duré.
Pour sa part, l’opposition politique estime qu’il est du devoir de tous les acteurs de participer aux négociations pour mettre fin à la crise. Ils disent voir aucune possibilité pour que le Gouvernement réalise des élections en 2024, eu égard à la conjoncture socio politique et sécuritaire actuelle.
Toutefois, certains dirigeants politiques, dont Feland JEAN, le responsable des Affaires Politiques de EDE, ont salué l’initiative des émissaires de la Caricom qui ont soumis, à leur appréciation, un accord cadre relatif à la résolution de la crise. Mais, les acteurs de l’opposition fébrile disent avoir des réserves sur certains points inclus dans ce document.
Depuis le début des négociations en juin dernier, les partis politiques n’ont jamais réussi à s’entendre pour trouver un accord sur les vrais problèmes du pays. Plus d’un se questionnent, cette fois-ci, sur la finalité de cette nouvelle mission étrangère en Haïti et la volonté des acteurs à résoudre la crise.
