Le Président de la République dominicaine, Luis ABINADER, a exprimé une nouvelle fois son inquiétude face à la crise en Haïti, ce jeudi 6 février 2025. Lors d’une réunion avec Marco RUBIO, Secrétaire d’État américain, il a insisté sur la nécessité d’un soutien financier accru à la force multinationale dirigée par le Kenya pour stabiliser la situation sécuritaire.
ABINADER a averti que l’instabilité en Haïti représente une menace pour toute la région, y compris les États-Unis. Il a critiqué l’inaction de certains pays face à la détérioration rapide des conditions de vie et à l’emprise croissante des gangs armés.
Le Chef de la diplomatie dominicaine a souligné que l’absence de réponse concrète pourrait aggraver la crise humanitaire. Il a insisté sur l’urgence d’une intervention coordonnée pour éviter l’effondrement total du pays voisin.
« Haïti se noie, tandis qu’une partie importante de la communauté internationale reste passive », regrette ABINADER. Il a appelé à une mobilisation immédiate pour éviter une catastrophe encore plus grave.
