Kenskoff a été le théâtre d’une nouvelle attaque armée, dans la nuit du 13 au 14 septembre 2025. Des individus lourdement armés, identifiés comme membres de la coalition criminelle Viv Ansanm, ont pris pour cible une troupe de militaires en service dans la zone, selon un communiqué de la Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH).
Le bilan communiqué par l’institution fait état d’un mort et de deux blessés parmi les forces de l’ordre. La victime est Texon MERCY, chauffeur-mécanicien au sein de la PNH. Deux policiers, dont l’identité n’a pas été révélée, ont été touchés par balles et évacués en urgence par une équipe du SWAT.
Les assaillants ont également incendié un véhicule blindé à l’aide de cocktails Molotov dans un ravin de la localité d’Obleon. La PNH affirme que la riposte de ses unités a permis de neutraliser plusieurs membres du gang.
Le commandant André Jonas Vladimir PARAISON a salué le courage des policiers déployés et présenté ses condoléances à la famille et aux collègues de Texon MERCY.
Cette attaque illustre la montée de la violence dans la commune de Kenskoff, où les groupes armés de Viv Ansanm cherchent à étendre leur contrôle, multipliant les affrontements et les pertes humaines.
Depuis janvier, Kenscoff subit une offensive constante des gangs armés, provoquant la fuite de plus de 30 000 habitants. L’assaut, déclenché le 27 janvier, a déjà laissé plus de 1 660 personnes sans abri, selon l’Organisation Internationale pour les Migrations (OIM). Cette insécurité perturbe gravement la production agricole locale, faisant planer une menace sur l’approvisionnement alimentaire de toute la région.
