Le Conseil Électoral Provisoire (CEP) a annoncé le 8 Avril 2026, la suspension du lancement des inscriptions des électeurs et des candidatures. Cette décision intervient dans un contexte d’ajustements juridiques liés au Pacte national pour la stabilité et l’organisation des élections.
Dans une note, publiée le mercredi 8 avril 2026, l’institution précise que les opérations prévues les 1er et 13 avril ne se tiendront plus aux dates initialement fixées. Ce report fait suite à l’entrée en vigueur de l’arrêté adopté en Conseil des Ministres le 24 mars 2026, modifiant le cadre relatif à la composition et au mandat du CEP.
Le Conseil explique que ce nouveau dispositif impose une adaptation de ses instruments juridiques. Il s’agit notamment d’assurer la conformité du décret électoral du 1er décembre 2025 avec les dispositions du Pacte national. Les articles 12 et 14 servent de base aux ajustements en cours.
Ces modifications entraînent une révision du chronogramme électoral et affectent les premières étapes du processus. Le CEP annonce que de nouvelles dates seront communiquées après finalisation des travaux d’harmonisation. Il souligne que cette phase reste essentielle pour garantir un cadre légal cohérent avant le démarrage des opérations.
Par ailleurs, l’institution affirme poursuivre ses efforts pour préserver les principes d’impartialité, d’inclusion et de transparence.
Malgré ce report, plusieurs étapes avaient déjà été franchies. Le 14 novembre 2025, le CEP avait transmis à l’Exécutif le projet de décret électoral ainsi que le calendrier des élections. Le texte a ensuite été publié le 1er décembre 2025, établissant la base légale du processus.
En outre, la période d’inscription des partis politiques s’est déroulée du 2 au 12 mars 2026, permettant l’enregistrement de 320 structures. Le 26 mars, le CEP a publié la liste officielle des partis agréés, validant ainsi les acteurs autorisés à participer aux prochaines élections.
