Faisant objet de menaces politiques visant son caractère ainsi que sa vie, et suites aux propos sexistes; Mme Dominique DUPUY, s’est retirée du Conseil présidentiel de transition moins de 5 jours après sa désignation pour représenter les structures politiques EDE, RED et Compromis historique. Elle a été, tout de suite, remplacée par l’ancien Ambassadeur d’Haiti en République Dominicaine de 2020-2022, M. Smith AUGUSTIN.
Le conseil est toujours dans l’impasse moins de 15 jours après l’annonce de démission du gouvernement dirigé par Dr Ariel HENRY. Les membres du CP se lancent dans une lutte acharnée pour occuper la présidence. Malgré de nombreuses réunions, les tentatives se sont révélées vaines car les acteurs ne veulent pas céder.
Jusqu’à date, les neuf (9) membres, désignés au Conseil présidentiel de transition, n’ont posé aucune action concrète pour exprimer leur volonté de sortir le pays du chaos. Aucun avancement sur la désignation du président du Conseil présidentiel, le choix du prochain Premier ministre et des membres du nouveau gouvernement intérimaire n’ont pas été enregustrés. Ils veulent tous avoir le droit de vote ou la présidence en poche.
Alors que le pays enfle d’une crise multidimensionnelle alarmante qui se transforme en crise humanitaire, les acteurs impliqués dans la mise en place du Conseil présidentiel continuent de s’affronter et de se préoccuper de leur propre intérêt mesquin au lieu de se soucier de la situation chaotique du peuple haïtien qui a besoin de respirer.
Rappelons que, Edgard Leblanc Fils, Leslie Voltaire, Smith Augustin, Fritz Alphonse Jean, Laurent St Cyr, Louis Gérald Gilles, Emmanuel Vertilaire et Frinel Joseph sont désormais les noms des 8 membres du Conseil présidentiel de transition, après le retrait, hier soir, du représentant du Rassemblement pour une Entente Nationale.
“C’est donc avec un réel regret que je prends la décision de me retirer du Conseil”, a écrit René JEAN-JUMEAU, représentant du REN, qui avait demandé le droit de vote, mais rejeté par la majorité des conseillers.
