En Allemagne le social-démocrate Olaf Scholz a prêté serment, mercredi 8 décembre, devant les députés du Bundestag, succédant ainsi à 16 ans de gouvernance d’Angela Merkel.
Olaf Scholz, du parti SPD, a été élu avec 395 voix pour, 303 contre et 6 abstentions devant les 736 élus du Bundestag issus des législatives du 26 septembre dernier. Son parti, disposant d’une majorité à la chambre basse (206 sièges), a fait alliance aux Verts (118 sièges) et aux Libéraux du FDP (92 sièges) concluant avec eux un accord de gouvernement.
Le nouveau élu devient donc le neuvième Chancelier de l’Allemagne d’après-guerre, succédant au règne Merkel qui dirigeait l’Allemagne depuis 16 ans (2005-2021).
Des dirigeants internationaux saluent l’élection d’Olaf Scholz
Des autorités internationales ont salué l’élection du nouveau chancelier allemand.
Le Président français, Emmanuel Macron, dans un message publié sur Twitter, a salué l’élection de Olaf Scholz, en lui promettant d’écrire « la suite ensemble« , « pour les Français, pour les Allemands, pour les Européens« .
De son côté, le Kremlin a souhaité l’établissement d’une « relation constructive » entre le président Vladimir Poutine et Olaf Scholz. « Nous tablons sur une continuité, que des relations constructives s’établissent entre le président et le nouveau chancelier », a déclaré à la presse le porte-parole de la présidence russe, Dmitri Peskov.
