L’Office de la Protection du Citoyen (OPC) a recommandé à ce que l’action publique soit mise en mouvement, contre les auteurs et co-auteurs de l’assassinat du journaliste de la radio Lebon FM dans la ville des Cayes, Gary Tesse. L’OPC exige que justice soit rendue, dans le cadre du traitement de ce crime abominable, conformément aux instruments internationaux de protection des droits de l’homme.
Dans une note rendue publique ce 28 février 2024, l’Office de la protection du citoyen a, une fois de plus, dénoncé l’assassinat crapuleux commandité pour faire taire le journaliste Gary Tesse qui, dit-il, s’attaquait à la corruption, aux abus de pouvoir, notamment aux exactions du commissaire du gouvernement des Cayes Ronald Richemond.
« Il est clair que la liberté d’expression est en grave danger dans le pays face à de telles pratiques et face aux nouveaux prédateurs des journalistes.
L’OPC exige aussi que soient cessées, toutes les intimidations et persécutions dont sont victimes les membres de la famille du journaliste assassiné », lit-on dans cette note.
