Haïti-Diplomatie : le Ministre des Affaires Étrangères cherche un soutien sécuritaire et économique à Washington et à Tokyo
Le ministre des Affaires Étrangères et des Cultes, Jean-Victor Harvel JEAN-BAPTISTE, a quitté Haïti le lundi 2 novembre 2024 pour une mission diplomatique essentielle. Conformément aux directives du Conseil Présidentiel de Transition (CPT), il représente le pays dans deux grandes capitales : Washington et Tokyo. Cette initiative vise à renforcer les relations internationales tout en cherchant des solutions concrètes aux défis majeurs d’Haïti.
À Washington, le Ministre aura des échanges stratégiques avec des responsables américains. Il abordera principalement la crise sécuritaire qui affecte Haïti. Ces discussions visent à obtenir un soutien concret pour restaurer la paix et la stabilité. Par ailleurs, il rencontrera des membres influents du Congrès pour discuter des lois HELP et HOPE, cruciales pour préserver les emplois dans le secteur textile haïtien.
Après Washington, Jean-Victor Harvel JEAN-BAPTISTE se rendra à Tokyo, où il participera à la 8ème réunion ministérielle Japon/CARICOM. Ce rendez-vous multilatéral permettra de renforcer la coopération entre le Japon et les Caraïbes. Le Ministre profitera de cette occasion pour promouvoir des partenariats favorables à Haïti. Il rencontrera également d’autres responsables de la CARICOM afin de consolider les relations régionales.
Cette mission reflète la volonté d’Haïti de s’ouvrir davantage au monde. Dans un contexte difficile, elle marque une étape vers des solutions concrètes et des partenariats porteurs d’espoir pour le pays.
