Le Ministre délégué auprès du Premier Ministre chargé de la solidarité et des affaires humanitaires, Herwil GASPARD, a lancé un vibrant appel à la solidarité lors du Conseil des Ministres binational (Haïti-Colombie). Il a souligné les liens historiques unissant la nation haïtienne et celle de la Colombie qui, selon lui, n’ont jamais connu de guerres fratricides.
Au cours de la tenue dudit conseil, Herwil GASPARD a profité pour mettre à nu la situation alarmante en Haïti marquée par des centaines de milliers de déplacés internes, une famine imminente et des enfants vulnérables à la violence des gangs armés. Il a invité les autorités colombiennes à unir leurs efforts pour aider Haïti à relever ces défis.
Rétablir l’autorité de l’État, rouvrir les écoles et protéger les femmes et les filles victimes sont, entr’autres, les priorités des autorités haïtiennes. Ces actions, selon le Ministre, sont essentielles pour éviter un effondrement total et permettre la tenue d’élections générales et crédibles dans le pays, en vue de la passation du pouvoir à des élus, le 7 février 2026.
Dans le même élan de l’esprit de Simon BOLIVAR, Herwil GASPARD croit que la Colombie devrait renforcer son soutien envers Haïti. « Éteignons ensemble l’incendie qui menace Haïti », a-t-il conclu, appelant à une action commune et urgente.
