Le Président américain Donald TRUMP a annoncé que les autorités vénézuéliennes procéderont au transfert de 30 à 50 millions de barils de pétrole vers les États-Unis d’Amérique. L’annonce a été faite, le mardi 6 janvier 2026, sur son compte Truth Social.
Dans sa publication, Donald TRUMP affirme que le pétrole concerné, qu’il qualifie de haute qualité, est actuellement soumis à des sanctions. Il précise que la cargaison sera vendue au prix du marché international et que les recettes issues de cette vente seront placées sous son contrôle direct.
Selon le Chef de l’État américain, ces fonds devront être utilisés dans l’intérêt du peuple vénézuélien ainsi que de la population américaine. Il indique avoir donné instruction au Secrétaire à l’Énergie, Chris WRIGHT, de mettre immédiatement en œuvre ce plan. Le pétrole sera transporté par des navires de stockage spécialement mobilisés pour l’opération et acheminé vers des quais de déchargement situés aux États-Unis.
À ce stade, aucune réaction officielle n’a été enregistrée du côté du gouvernement vénézuélien pour confirmer ou infirmer les déclarations du Président américain.
Pour rappel, l’ancien Président vénézuélien, Nicolas MADURO a récemment été enlevé puis transféré aux États-Unis, où il fait face à des accusations de trafic de drogue, de corruption et de clientélisme liés au narcotrafic. Il a comparu devant un tribunal fédéral le 5 janvier dernier et doit de nouveau se présenter devant la justice, le 17 mars prochain.
