Ses prises de position courageuses lui ont valu de nombreuses menaces, mais il n’a jamais cessé de défendre le peuple haïtien.
Une enquête enterrée par le système judiciaire
Depuis son assassinat en 2000, l’enquête a été marquée par des lenteurs, des pressions politiques et des obstacles multiples. Aucun véritable procès n’a eu lieu jusqu’à ce jour. Les juges se succèdent, les dossiers disparaissent, et les responsables continuent de jouir d’une impunité totale.
L’affaire Jean Dominique reflète un problème plus large en Haïti, l’incapacité à rendre justice pour les crimes politiques. Comme tant d’autres victimes avant et après lui, son nom s’ajoute à une longue liste de personnes dont l’histoire est rappelée, mais que la justice oublie.
