Rentrée scolaire 2025-2026 : Insécurité et difficultés financières creusent les inégalités
Trois jours après l’ouverture officielle de l’année scolaire 2025-2026, le 1er octobre, annoncée par le Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale et de la Formation Professionnelle (MENFP), certaines écoles ont accueilli leurs élèves dans plusieurs régions du pays, tandis que de nombreux établissements sont restés fermés, illustrant l’impact de l’insécurité et des difficultés économiques.
Dans plusieurs quartiers de la zone métropolitaine, la circulation est restée relativement fluide, contrairement aux embouteillages habituels des jours de rentrée, notamment à l’avenue Maïs-Gaté ou à Delmas 33. Cette accalmie n’est pas le signe d’une meilleure organisation, mais le résultat de la fermeture de nombreux établissements et de l’incapacité de certains parents à assumer les frais scolaires.
À Delmas et Tabarre, plusieurs écoles privées et publiques n’ont pas fonctionné. Le lycée Jean Marie Vincent de Carradeux, choisi pour accueillir la cérémonie officielle de rentrée, a été paralysé dès le premier jour par la grève de ses enseignants, toujours en attente de leur lettre de nomination. Dans certains quartiers, à peine une école sur dix a ouvert ses portes.
Cette rentrée inégale reflète l’effondrement économique du pays. Beaucoup de directeurs d’écoles n’ont pas pu effectuer les travaux de préparation habituels, comme réparer les toits ou aménager les salles de classe, faute de moyens. La montée de la violence des gangs, qui paralyse des zones stratégiques, accentue la crise et laisse des milliers de familles dans une situation précaire.
Dans plusieurs camps de déplacés, notamment ceux hébergés par Médecins Sans Frontières ou le Ministère des Travaux publics, la fréquentation scolaire reste très faible. Même les enfants ayant encore un toit ne reprennent pas forcément les cours, faute de ressources pour payer les frais ou acheter des uniformes.
Cette première semaine de rentrée met en lumière une double fracture : entre écoles ouvertes et écoles fermées, et entre enfants ayant accès à l’éducation et ceux marginalisés par la pauvreté et l’insécurité. Reste à voir si les semaines à venir permettront une amélioration de la situation.
