Quelques jours après le décès du chanteur haïtien, Michael BENJAMIN, dit Mikaben, le 15 octobre 2022, à l’Accor Arena, à Paris, un groupe de jeunes de la communauté de Route de Frères et de Puits-blain se prépare à lui rendre un bel hommage, le dimanche 23 octobre 2022.
Le décès de Mikaben, sur la scène de l’Accor Arena, tout juste après sa prestation, le 15 octobre 2022, lors du concert Carimi Reunion, à Paris, a affecté grandement toute la communauté haïtienne, notamment les habitants de Route de Frères qui l’ont vu grandir. Dans la perspective de saluer le départ de leur camarade, un groupe de jeunes de route de Frères et de Puits-blain s’apprête à organiser une marche en blanc, ce dimanche 23 Octobre 2022, vers les 4 heures de l’après-midi.
«Plusieurs activités sont au menu», a confirmé Wandy CHARLES, l’un des initiateurs. Il a précisé à notre rédaction que, durant la marche, ils iront déposer des gerbes de fleurs et des bougies à l’entrée de la maison de M. Lionel BENJAMIN, le père du défunt.
De plus, ils ont également fait graver le portrait de l’artiste à l’entrée de la demeure de M. Lionel BENJAMIN, là où Mika a passé une bonne partie de sa vie. «L’objectif consiste à faire de cet espace un lieu de recueillement, en mémoire de Mikaben», a déclaré Nathalie Noël (Perle Noire), qui est également membre organisateur de cet événement.
Pour terminer la marche en blanc, la communauté de Frères et les quartiers avoisinants ont prévu de remettre un cahier à la famille du défunt, dans lequel ils partageront leurs vœux d’affection et d’amour.
Il faut noter que l’événement sera ouvert à toute personne désireuse d’y participer, selon les organisateurs.
