Dans un rapport publié le dimanche 17 novembre 2024, l’Office National de la Migration rapporte que 20 000 personnes sont déplacées dans l’espace de 4 jours à cause des violences perpétrées par les gangs armés dans plusieurs quartiers notamment à Solino, Nazon, Christ Roi entre autres.
L’OIM précise que plus de 17 000 personnes sont hébergées dans 15 sites, que ce soit des écoles ou des institutions étatiques. Ce déplacement massif n’a jamais été constaté depuis août 2023 selon L’OIM.
l’OIM se dit déterminer avec ses partenaires malgré les difficultés afin de fournir une aide vitale. Les personnes déplacées à l’intérieur du pays sont aidées activement par l’OIM, en leur fournissant des allocations de logement et en déployant des cliniques mobiles pour offrir les soins médicaux de base, des médicaments et des services de protection tels que le soutien psychosocial selon ce que l’organisation avance.
Rappellons que malgré la présence d’un nouveau gouvernement la population ne sait toujours à quel saint se vouer face au terreur des gangs armés.
