L’Office de la Protection du Citoyen appelle à l’action suite à l’assassinat de trois policiers à Port-au-Prince
L’Office de la Protection du Citoyen (OPC) exprime son indignation face à l’assassinat brutal de trois policiers survenu ce dimanche au bas de Delmas. Dans une déclaration publique le 9 juin 2024, l’OPC qualifie cette situation de « révoltante et inacceptable », exigeant des changements immédiats au niveau du Haut commandement de la Police nationale haïtienne (PNH).
Cet acte odieux a coûté la vie à trois membres de l’Unité Temporaire Anti-Gang (UTAG), suscitant la colère et la frustration de l’OPC. L’organisme chargé de la protection des droits des citoyens appelle à une solidarité sans précédent au sein de toutes les unités de la PNH pour mettre un terme aux assassinats en série de ses membres.
Dans sa déclaration, l’OPC souligne l’urgence d’une réaction concertée pour éviter de nouveaux drames au sein de l’institution policière. Il exhorte les autorités compétentes, notamment le Conseil Présidentiel de Transition et la Primature, à prendre des mesures efficaces pour renforcer la PNH et garantir la sécurité de ses agents.
En appelant à la solidarité des agents de la PNH, l’OPC insiste sur l’importance d’une réponse collective face à cette menace croissante. Il rappelle que la population attend des actions concrètes de la part des autorités pour mettre un terme à cette spirale de violence et restaurer la confiance envers les forces de l’ordre.
