La Police nationale d’Haïti (PNH) a officiellement annoncé ce lundi 8 Juillet 2024, avoir repris le contrôle total de l’Hôpital Universitaire d’État d’Haïti (HUEH), marquant ainsi une étape cruciale dans la lutte contre l’insécurité qui sévit dans la capitale haïtienne depuis plusieurs mois.
Lors d’une conférence de presse, le directeur de la police, Normil Rameau, a précisé que les forces d’élite de la PNH ont mené une opération déterminante pour rétablir l’ordre à l’hôpital, mettant fin à l’occupation par des groupes armés logeant dans la localité depuis avril.
L’hôpital général était devenu un bastion pour les criminels, causant de graves problèmes non seulement pour les malades, mais aussi pour les employés de l’établissement.
La reconquête de l’hôpital général témoigne des efforts conjoints des forces de l’ordre, appuyées par la communauté internationale, pour rétablir la sécurité et la stabilité dans le pays.
