Le mouvement des femmes de l’Inisyativ pou Devlope Ayiti (I.D.A), dans un communiqué du 29 janvier 2025, dénonce le non-respect du principe du quota d’au moins 30 % de représentativité féminine à tous les niveaux de la vie nationale, notamment dans les services publics. Ce principe, exigé par la constitution haïtienne en vigueur, constitue une violation des droits des femmes haïtiennes selon le mouvement.
Les femmes de l’I.D.A appellent les autorités compétentes à œuvrer en faveur de l’inclusion et de la justice sociale. «Les femmes ne peuvent continuer à être exclues si l’on veut créer les conditions favorables au dialogue national, à la révision constitutionnelle, à l’organisation des élections, à la stabilité politique et au développement économique», indique le communiqué.
En vertu de l’article 17.1 de la constitution amendée, le mouvement insiste sur la nécessité pour les autorités de corriger ce déséquilibre en appliquant le principe du quota, une obligation constitutionnelle. Selon l’I.D.A, chaque citoyen, sans distinction de genre, doit jouer son rôle dans les processus décisionnels.
Réaffirmant son engagement pour une gouvernance équitable et inclusive, cette structure politique appelle les décideurs à respecter les principes démocratiques établis par la constitution. «L’égalité de genre est un pilier fondamental pour le développement durable d’Haïti et pour le bien-être de tous», conclut le communiqué.
