Le Ministère de l’éducation nationale et de la formation professionnelle (MENFP) appelle à la protection des écoles occupées par les victimes des gangs armés de Grand ravine et de Ti Bois. Professionnels, parents, écoliers et enseignants s’inquiètent face à la montée vertigineuse des violences des gangs armés de la zone métropolitaine de Port-au-Prince, par l’occupation anarchique des écoles et par le faible moyen pécuniaire des parents dû à la crise économique et financière qui frappe tout les secteurs confondus.
Le climat assombri provoqué par la terreur des gangs dans la capitale haïtienne et ses environs fait régner la peur, l’inquiétude et le découragement. C’est une réalité, qu’on peut lire sur le visage de chaque citoyen rencontrer dans les rues de la capitale haïtienne.
Sofia, une mère de trois enfants qui fréquentent une école dans la zone de l’église Saint- Antoine, à l’avenue Poupelard estime qu’aucune zone n’est fiable à Port-au-Prince. Selon elle, la rentrée des classes n’est pas possible dans la conjoncture actuelle.
M. Fabien, un parent qui habite dans la commune de carrefour abonde dans le même sens.
« Vu l’état de la situation sécuritaire du pays, personne ne peut être sur de la reprise des activités scolaires. S’il existe un calme apparent dans cette partie du territoire, le climat d’insécurité peut soudainement évoluer et entrave la rentrée scolaire » a-t-il déclaré.
Des mesures de prévention s’avèrent donc indispensables, de l’avis de Marie Josée, une marchande de fournitures scolaires qui évoluent à proximité du stade Sylvio Cator. Selon ses dires, cette rentrée des classes dont parle le MENFP n’est pas claire. Elle a fait savoir qu’un parent doit bien réfléchir avec les maigres moyens dont il dispose en ce moment. Il croit qu’au lieu de les verser à un établissement scolaire, il ferait mieux de les conserver pour pouvoir fuire vers la province en cas de possible invasion des bandits armés dans son quartier.
Pour M. Brutus, un habitant de Carrefour-Feuilles, dont la maison a été pillée par les gangs, la précarité économique existait déjà. Selon lii même en temps de guerre l’école doit fonctionner si les infrastructures sont disponibles. Le ministère peut choisir la double vacation pour permettre aux établissements disponibles de loger deux écoles, l’une dans la matinée et l’autre dans l’après-midi.
La rentrée des classes coïncide à une période préoccupante marquée par la recrudescence des actes de banditisme. Face à cette situation, plus se montre pessimistes quant à l’ouverture officielle de l’année académique 2023-2024.
