Depuis quelque temps, les haïtiens se trouvent dans le pétrin, avec le phénomène de l’insécurité, surtout la violence des gangs armés qui impacte tous les secteurs de la vie nationale. L’économie nationale n’est pas épargnée des conséquences désastreuses de ce fléau. Le secteur agricole est dans l’incapacité de produire de denrées alimentaires pour les consommateurs.
En raison de cette situation, les familles haïtiennes se trouvent dans l’incapacité de se nourrir. Le coût du panier alimentaire est revu à la hausse et les agriculteurs sont incapables de vendre ou transporter les produits alimentaires des autres régions vers la capitale haïtienne.
Bien avant cette situation chaotique, les prix des produits de première nécessité ont été exorbitants. Aujourd’hui, acheter de la nourriture est devenu un défi, voire un luxe pour la population. Près de 33% des ménagers ont signalé avoir subi un choc économique par rapport à la hausse des prix des produits de base.
