Selon le sondage Baromètre Économique et Financier 2024, de la firme ProEco, le pays a connu pour la cinquième année de suite une croissance économique négative depuis 60 ans. Plusieurs facteurs dont l’insécurité, l’inflation, la dépréciation de la gourde, entre autres sont à la base de ce problème. Ce qui pousse la firme à conclure que l’année 2024, sera une année incertaine économiquement.
Les résultats du sondage sur l’état financier du pays organisé par le firme ProEco, dirigé par l’économiste Enomy Germain révèlent d’une part que 78% des participants pensent que la situation économique du pays s’aggravera énormément à cause de l’insécurité et l’instabilité politique. 75.2% d’entre eux croient qu’il y aura une augmentation de l’inflation au cours de l’année.
La majorité des sondés, soit 80%, se montrent sceptiques quant à une éventuelle amélioration de la situation économique en 2024. Toujours dans le cadre de cette enquête, 83.5% pense que l’État doit combattre l’insécurité et favoriser la stabilité politique sur le territoire.
Un total de 336 professionnels ont été touchés et 109 ont répondu au sondage, soit un taux de réponse d’environ 32.44%. En guise de rappel, le Baromètre Économique et Financier (BEF) est un sondage périodique de ProEco Haïti collectant les opinions, les éléments de compréhension et d’anticipation des agents économiques par rapport à certaines variables clés de l’économie haïtienne.
