Dans le cadre de l’enquête sur l’assassinat par balles de Nathanielle Médjine MICHEL, survenu le 28 août 2024 à Delmas, deux personnes sont interpellées par la Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH). Parmi les suspects se trouvent un agent de police, Jean Andersen Cantave, et sa conjointe Nathalie MICHEL, sœur de la victime. Tous deux sont soupçonnés d’être impliqués dans cet acte criminel qui a profondément choqué la communauté policière.
Ce jour-là, Nathanielle Médjine MICHEL, membre de la 28e promotion de la PNH, se dirigeait vers son poste de travail à Delmas 75 lorsqu’elle a été violemment prise pour cible par un individu circulant à bord d’un véhicule identifié comme étant un Toyota Land Cruiser blanc avec une barre rouge. L’attaque, survenue dans la zone de Cassagnol 20, a laissé la policière sans défense face à plusieurs tirs qui ont malheureusement été fatals.
Le juge de paix appelé sur les lieux a constaté que la victime avait été touchée par plusieurs balles. La Direction Générale de la Police Nationale d’Haïti a exprimé ses sincères condoléances aux proches et aux collègues de la défunte, tout en réaffirmant sa détermination à poursuivre les auteurs de ce crime.
Une enquête approfondie a été lancée par la Direction Centrale de la Police Judiciaire (DCPJ) pour identifier et traduire en justice tous les responsables de cet acte odieux. Alors que l’enquête se poursuit, la PNH reste sur le qui-vive, déterminée à rendre justice à l’une des siennes, victime d’un crime atroce qui ne restera pas sans conséquence.
Cet assassinat, en plus de susciter l’indignation, met en lumière la complexité des liens familiaux et professionnels qui se croisent tragiquement dans cette affaire, faisant craindre que le fossé entre la justice et la trahison ne soit parfois plus mince qu’on ne le pense.
