Les organisations humanitaires ont intensifié leurs efforts pour venir en aide aux déplacés internes, affectés par les attaques des groupes armés, vivant dans les sites improvisés. Plus de 181 000 personnes ont été touchées par l’aide humanitaire que ce soit par la distribution d’aliments, d’eau potable et d’habits tout en répondant aux besoins de résilience et de protection sociale.
De février à avril, les bandits ont lancé plusieurs attaques armées dans la capitale haïtienne. Ils ont pillé les maisons des citoyens, ont saccagé et semé la pagaille, notamment dans la commune de Delmas, causant ainsi le déplacement de plus de 5 100 personnes, selon les décomptes de l’Organisation Internationale pour les Migrations (OIM). En février dernier plus de 90 000 personnes ont été contraintes de quitter la capitale, 95 000 autres ont dû laisser la zône métropolitaine de Port-au-Prince pour s’installer dans d’autres localités du pays.
La situation sécuritaire à Port-au-Prince est grave. La persistance des actes de violence des gangs armés ne change pas. Une situation qui a engendré des conséquences humanitaires.
Des dizaines de milliers de déplacés, touchés par l’escalade de la violence des gangs armés, sont devenus de plus en plus vulnérables. La situation s’aggrave avec la saison pluvieuse qui provoque de fortes inondations dans certaines zones de Port-au-Prince et des cas de choléra réapparaissent.
Des actions humanitaires essentielles pour soutenir les personnes déplacées internes sont plus que nécessaires. Face aux nouvelles vagues de déplacement causées par des attaques, il est crucial que la communauté internationale continue ces efforts humanitaires pour répondre aux besoins urgents des populations touchées.
