Deux avions militaires américains ont déporté des migrants en situation irrégulière vers le Guatemala, ce vendredi 24 janvier 2025. Cette opération reflète la politique migratoire stricte de l’administration TRUMP, quatre jours après son investiture.
Les États-Unis ont déporté ces migrants à bord de deux avions militaires C-17 Globemaster III. Ces avions ont décollé de Biggs Army Air Field, au Texas, et de Tucson, en Arizona. Les déportés incluent 79 Guatémaltèques dont 31 femmes, selon l’Institut de Migration du Guatemala (IGM). Cette initiative marque la première utilisation d’aéronefs militaires pour expulser des migrants sous l’administration TRUMP.
La Maison Blanche affirme que 538 immigrants illégaux ont été arrêtés. Elle décrit ces déportations comme la plus grande opération de déportation massive de l’histoire des États-Unis. Cette politique vise à renforcer la sécurité frontalière et à dissuader l’immigration clandestine. Le Président Trump avait déclaré une urgence nationale pour lutter contre l’immigration illégale, dès son entrée en fonction.
