La compagnie aérienne pakistanaise, Pakistan International Airways(PIA), a effectué, lundi 13 septembre, le premier vol international en Afghanistan depuis l’arrivée des Talibans au Pouvoir.
Un avion de la compagnie pakistanaise, PIA, a atterri lundi 13 septembre, à 10h30(heure locale), à l’aéroport de Kaboul. Il s’agit du premier vol international en Afghanistan depuis la prise du pouvoir par les Talibans le 15 août dernier. L’appareil ne comptait que quelques personnes à bord, une dizaine environ. « Il n’y avait presque personne à bord de l’avion, environ dix personnes (…), peut-être plus de membres d’équipage que de passagers », a décrit un journaliste de l’AFP à bord de ce vol en provenance d’Islamabad.
Depuis la prise de contrôle du pays par le mouvement islamiste, des milliers afghans ont envahi l’aéroport international de Kaboul en vue de fuir le régime Taliban. Les vols commerciaux ont été suspendus. Mais les États alliés ont pu procéder à des évacuations. Environ 123 000 personnes ont été évacuées, principalement afghanes.
Depuis l’attentat qui a tué plus de 100 personnes au milieu de la foule, les Talibans ont pris le contrôle de tout l’aéroport. Mais des signes de retour à la normale se sont multipliés depuis 10 jours.
Deux vols charters opérés par Qatar Airways ont notamment décollé la semaine dernière avec à leur bord des ressortissants étrangers et des Afghans qui n’avaient pas pu être évacués dans un premier temps.
Le 3 septembre, la compagnie aérienne publique afghane Ariana Airlines avait par ailleurs annoncé la reprise de ses vols domestiques.
