À l’occasion de la journée mondiale du café, célébrée ce dimanche 1er octobre 2023, la compagnie COPO S.A œuvrant dans le secteur caféier en Haïti a organisé la 1ère édition de la foire du café. Elle en profite pr présenter son nouvel emballage biodégradable et son nouveau statut en tant que société anonyme.
Conférence, causerie autour du café, dégustation, exposition, animation musicale étaient au menu de la première édition du « COPO-Foire du Café », organisée par COPO Coffee, pour marquée la journée internationale du café dans les locaux de Jojo Restaurant à Pétion-Ville.
L’entreprise œuvrant dans le secteur caféier à profité de l’occasion pour présenter au public leur nouvel emballage biodégradable. Cette nouvelle stratégie s’inscrit dans le cadre de son apport dans la protection de l’environnement.
« Notre café vient dans les hautes altitudes de Thiotte, dans le département du Sud’Est. Nous encourageons les planteurs avec les ressources nécessaires afin d’offrir à la communauté locale et extérieure un café de qualité », a fait savoir le Président Directeur Général de COPO S.A, Stéphane Prophète.
« Jusqu’à présent, on a une capacité de production de 99.000 livres de cafés par année. Nous souhaitons la renforcer et atteindre beaucoup plus de pays et de consommateurs possible. On peut y arriver avec le support de l’Etat », dit-il.
Stéphane Prophète a aussi informé que son entreprise envisage de lancer un nouveau projet dans la vente du Thé, du Chocolat comme elle procède avec le Café. Il informe que le café se vend sur plusieurs formes: en grain vert, grillé ou en poudre.
COPO Coffee se donne pour mission de contribuer à remettre Haïti sur la carte mondiale des producteurs et exportateurs de café comme c’était le cas dans l’époque coloniale. Le responsables de l’entreprise se décerne un satisfecit vue que 2014 à date , leur produit est disponible dans divers supermarchés du pays et même sous des étagères des marchés de l’étranger dont la République Dominicaine, les Etats-Unis, le Canada entre autres.
