Le Commandant en Chef de la Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH), Rameau Normil, a déclaré, ce lundi 8 juillet 2024, que la PNH et la Mission multinationale de sécurité vont rétablir la paix et la sécurité dans le pays. Il invite la population à les accompagner pour la réussite des opérations.
Lors d’une conférence de presse conjointe, entre la Police Nationale d’Haïti et les représentants de la police Kényane dirigeant la mission multinationale de sécurité, le Directeur Général a.i de la PNH promet de travailler afin de permettre aux policiers de retourner à leurs postes. Il a aussi annoncé que la population surtout les personnes déplacées pourront retourner chez eux.
Il a aussi souligné que l’institution policière est absente dans à peu près 7 communes du département de l’Ouest. Le Chef de la police s’est également engagé à mettre les bandits hors d’état de nuire, par conséquent il demande à la population de se joindre aux forces de l’ordre afin de rétablir la sécurité dans le pays.
De son côté, le représentant de la police du Kenya, Godfrey Otunga s’engage à travailler avec la PNH, en utilisant les ressources disponibles pour permettre au pays de retrouver la sécurité et démanteler les gangs armés.
Il convient de souligner que malgré la présence des policiers kenyans, les bandits ne cessent de semer la pagaille dans la capitale haïtienne. Ces dernières 24 heures, plusieurs cas de kidnapping sont recensés.
