Le Conseiller-Président Fritz Alphonse JEAN a pris part, ce jeudi 30 janvier 2025, à l’ouverture d’un colloque dédié à la protection du patrimoine culturel haïtien. Cette rencontre, organisée par le Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication, vise à attirer l’attention sur l’urgence de préserver les biens culturels et les sites historiques d’Haïti.
Dans un contexte marqué par la dégradation accélérée du patrimoine national, ce colloque réunit divers acteurs du secteur culturel afin d’échanger sur les moyens de renforcer les cadres juridiques et d’assurer une meilleure protection des trésors historiques du pays.
S’exprimant au nom du Conseil Présidentiel de Transition (CPT), Fritz Alphonse JEAN a souligné que la sauvegarde du patrimoine ne pouvait plus attendre. Il a insisté sur la nécessité de prendre des actions immédiates pour contrer les menaces pesant sur l’héritage historique d’Haïti et préserver l’âme même de la nation haïtienne.
Le Conseiller-Président a dénoncé la « croisade de destruction nationale » menée par des bandits de tout acabit, « avec ou sans cravate », qui s’attaquent aux patrimoines, aux biens culturels et aux valeurs du pays. Il a souligné que cette destruction avait une dimension symbolique et qu’il s’agissait d’une « déconstruction programmée » visant à semer le doute sur le passé glorieux d’Haïti, un pays ayant mené la seule révolution d’esclaves réussie de l’histoire de l’humanité.
Il a également insisté sur la nécessité pour l’État de mener des campagnes de sensibilisation afin de promouvoir l’importance du patrimoine dans une dynamique de développement touristique et de création de richesse.
« _La protection des biens culturels et des sites patrimoniaux est un signe de reconnaissance des sacrifices consentis par nos ancêtres pour nous léguer cette terre en héritage_ », a-t-il déclaré avec conviction.
Alors que les vestiges du passé s’effritent sous le poids de l’oubli et de la négligence, ce colloque se veut un cri d’alarme : préserver notre patrimoine, c’est refuser de voir notre histoire disparaître sous les gravats de l’indifférence.
