L’Inspecteur divisionnaire Joachim Antoine, dont la santé s’était détériorée à la suite d’un enlèvement, a succombé ce mercredi 12 juin 2024. Son décès laisse un vide immense au sein de la Police nationale d’Haïti, rejoignant ainsi une série de pertes tragiques avec au moins quatre agents tombés en moins d’une semaine.
Les semaines précédant sa disparition ont été marquées par des efforts désespérés pour sauver l’Inspecteur Antoine. Suite à son enlèvement et aux sévices infligés par des individus armés, des appels émouvants ont circulé sur les réseaux sociaux, sollicitant une contribution de sang de type O+ pour lui permettre de subir les interventions médicales nécessaires à sa récupération. Malgré ces efforts et les soins dévoués prodigués par le personnel médical, sa santé a continué de se détériorer jusqu’à son décès, arrachant ainsi un être cher à ceux qui l’aimaient et l’admiraient.
Cette disparition survient en ce jour symbolique, marquant le 29ème anniversaire de la Police nationale d’Haïti, ajoutant une dimension douloureuse à cet événement célébré chaque année.
