Le Conseil Présidentiel de Transition a rencontré des experts internationaux, des professionnels de la diaspora ainsi que d’autres personnalités concernant la mise en place du Conseil de Sécurité Nationale (CNS).
Dans une note de presse rendue publique ce 22 mai 2024, le Conseil Présidentiel de Transition dit avoir rencontré, ce mercredi, plusieurs personnalités autour de la question de sécurité nationale.
L’objectif principal de cette rencontre était de définir une réponse éfficace aux divers aspects de la crise de sécuritaire que traverse le pays. Le CNS aura la responsabilité de définir et de superviser les arrangements relatifs à l’assistance internationale en matière de sécurité.
Toutefois, le CPT a précisé que cette mission sera accomplie en consultation étroite avec tous les acteurs concernés, ainsi que les experts internationaux. Elle aura à fournir une assistance technique aux forces nationales de sécurité et au système judiciaire en vue de résoudre de manière durable les fléaux sociaux de l’insécurité, de la violence armée, des trafics de personnes, de stupéfiants, d’armes, de munitions, et la contrebande comme il est mentionné dans l’article 26 de l’accord politique du 3 avril 2024.
Le CNS définira et supervisera les arrangements relatifs à l’assistance internationale en matière de sécurité (Résolution 2699 du Conseil de Sécurité de l’ONU et autres), en consultation avec les collectivités territoriales, les acteurs de la sécurité, de la gouvernance et de la société civile, ainsi que des experts nationaux et internationaux.
En guise de conclusion, le CPT en a profité pour réaffirmer son engagement à travailler, de concert avec tous les partenaires, pour garantir la sécurité et la stabilité dans le pays.
