L’armée russe poursuit son plan en Ukraine. Tôt vendredi 4 mars 2022, elle a pris le contrôle de la centrale nucléaire de Zaporijia, après l’avoir bombardée la nuit, provoquant un incendie qui a laissé craindre le pire. Elle est la plus grande centrale atomique de toute l’Europe.
Vu la fragilité des infrastructures nucléaires, la crainte était énorme dans la nuit du jeudi à vendredi. La centrale a été touchée par un incendie consécutif à des combats entre les armées russe et ukrainienne. Mais selon Kiev, sa sécurité est garantie, bien qu’il a accusé Moscou d’avoir recours à la « terreur nucléaire ».
La centrale de Zaporijia n’est pas la première; l’armée russe s’est déjà emparée de l’ancienne centrale de Tchernobyl, à une centaine de kilomètres au nord de la capitale ukrainienne.
Pour l’instant, l’Agence Internationale de l’Energie Atomique, qui a déclaré dans un tweet qu’elle était « au courant d’informations faisant état de tirs d’obus » à la centrale et qu’elle était en contact avec les autorités ukrainiennes au sujet de la situation, n’affirme aucun changement des taux de radiation autour de la centrale de Zaporijia.
Plus tôt, jeudi, à l’issue de leur deuxième session de pourparlers, l’Ukraine et la Russie ont convenu d’organiser des « couloirs humanitaires » pour l’évacuation des civils des zones de combats. Ce qui aurait signifié qu’une désescalade n’est pas pour demain.
