Haïti – Infrastructure : La route Péligre/Lascahobas, entre impraticabilité et risques quotidiens
Lors d’un passage effectué le week-end dernier, sur la route reliant Péligre à Lascahobas, désormais devenue le seul accès praticable, deux camions ont été renversés en raison de l’état dégradé de la chaussée. Cette situation soulève des questions sur le coût de la réhabilitation de la route et sur les priorités d’intervention de l’État, accusé de négligence face à la sécurisation des axes principaux et à la préservation des vies et des biens.
Cette route, qui relie les communes Hinche, Thomonde et d’autres localités à Lascahobas, Belladère et aux zones frontalières, était autrefois peu fréquentée. Depuis que les gangs ont pris le contrôle de la route de Mirebalais, elle est devenue le seul itinéraire viable pour atteindre la frontière et plusieurs communes du Plateau.
Sur le terrain, le tronçon présente de nombreuses irrégularités : la chaussée est ponctuée de creux et de bosses difficiles à franchir. Les conducteurs rapportent que la route devient quasiment impraticable après la pluie, avec une surface glissante provoquant des pertes de contrôle, comme en témoignent les deux camions renversés la veille.
Un autre phénomène préoccupant a été observé : deux groupes de jeunes ont installé des cordes en travers de la route, forçant les véhicules à s’arrêter et réclamant de l’argent aux conducteurs. Contrairement aux postes de péage improvisés par les gangs, ces jeunes ne sont pas armés, mais leurs comportements restent intimidants et insistants.
Pour de nombreux passagers interrogés, l’État doit intervenir rapidement. Le renforcement de ce tronçon est devenu indispensable, car la route principale reste sous le contrôle des bandes armées. Selon un chauffeur, l’amélioration de la voie permettrait le transport sans contrainte des marchandises, des patients et des travailleurs entre les communes. Il souligne que la survie économique des zones desservies dépend entièrement de cette route.
En conclusion, la majorité des usagers rencontrés appellent l’État à agir. Ils estiment que la récupération de la route principale devrait être une priorité nationale, afin de protéger les populations, en particulier les déplacés internes. Les chauffeurs avertissent que, si aucune mesure n’est prise rapidement, la situation risquera de se détériorer : davantage d’accidents, de véhicules endommagés et de marchandises perdues. Chaque jour, ce tronçon se transforme en corridor à risques, exposant les usagers à de graves dangers.
