Depuis le 7 avril 2025, la cheffe haïtienne Leenchee EXCELLENT, installée en France, participe à un défi culinaire de portée mondiale, organisé par le Guinness World Records. Elle entend relever un défi de taille, à savoir cuisiner sans relâche durant huit jours consécutifs, soit 192 heures, en réalisant près de 300 plats. Une performance inédite, portée par une ambition forte, faire rayonner la gastronomie haïtienne sur la scène internationale.

 

Longtemps recalée par l’organisation, sa candidature a finalement été validée, ouvrant la voie à un marathon culinaire d’une intensité remarquable. Avec 22 heures de cuisine par jour et seulement deux heures de repos, Cheffe Leen repousse les limites de l’endurance humaine, tout en mettant en avant les trésors culinaires d’Haïti.

Alors que plusieurs autres participants venus d’ailleurs ont jeté l’éponge, la cheffe haïtienne tient bon, soutenue par une mobilisation massive. Entrepreneurs, artistes et influenceurs haïtiens, de France comme d’ailleurs, lui témoignent leur solidarité. Sur TikTok, où ses sessions sont diffusées en direct, elle réunit une communauté impressionnante : plus de 383 000 abonnés et 12 millions de mentions « j’aime ». Un engouement viral qui dépasse les frontières de la diaspora.

Entourée d’une équipe technique rigoureuse, Cheffe Leen vise un double record dépasser les 119 heures et 57 minutes du chef irlandais Alan FISHER, et les 140 heures de la cheffe libérienne Evette QUOIIBIA. Mais au-delà de la prouesse, c’est un message qu’elle porte celui d’une cuisine haïtienne créative, vivante et fièrement enracinée.

La fin du défi est prévue pour le 15 avril. À quelques heures du terme, l’émotion est palpable. Car au-delà de la performance individuelle, c’est une nation entière qui vibre à travers les gestes d’une femme passionnée et déterminée, qui fait mijoter l’excellence haïtienne sous les projecteurs du monde.
