Le Conseiller-Président Fritz Alphonse JEAN s’est entretenu avec les représentants de la Banque Mondiale (BM), du Fonds Monétaire International (FMI), et la Conseillère haïtienne auprès de ces institutions internationales, Ludmilla Buteau-Allien, au local de l’Ambassade d’Haïti à Washington.
Plusieurs autres personnalités ont pris part aussi à cette rencontre, notamment:
– André Roncaglia, Directeur Exécutif du Bureau du Brésil représentant Haïti au FMI,
– Marcos Chiliatto, Directeur Exécutif du Bureau du Brésil représentant Haïti à la BM,
– Patrizia Tumbarello, Cheffe de Mission pour Haïti – FMI.
L’instrument de Suivi Renforcé (SMP) convenu entre le gouvernement haïtien et le FMI, ainsi que le Cadre de Coopération et d’Investissement Ajusté (RCIA) soumis par la BM a été l’objet de cette rencontre.
Le Conseiller-Président Fritz Alphonse JEAN a plaidé pour une redistribution des ressources en faveur des départements du Nord et du Sud. Malgré que les régions susmentionnées soient souvent épargnées par la violence urbaine, elles accueillent toutefois des milliers de déplacés internes.
Lors de cette rencontre, réaménager le portefeuille de projets pour mieux répondre aux besoins urgents générés par la détérioration de la situation sécuritaire et ses impacts sur la population haïtienne faisait également l’objet de la discussion.
Le Gouvernement haïtien essaie d’aligner les appuis financiers internationaux sur les priorités nationales, tout en tenant compte des réalités sur le terrain. Aussi cette rencontre marque-t-elle une étape très importante.
