L’indice phare de la Bourse de Paris, le CAC 40, a connu sa pire séance depuis mars 2020, lorsque les premiers confinements ont été annoncés en Europe. Il a clôturé aujourd’hui, à 6.739,73 points, en chute de 4,75 %. Une chute qui part en fumée avec quasiment l’ensemble des gains du mois de novembre en une seule journée. De fait, il s’éloigne progressivement de son record historique à 7.156 points de la semaine dernière.
Entre-temps, les stratégistes de marché se veulent toutefois rassurants sur la dynamique sous-jacente. «Avec des marchés boursiers proches des sommets historiques, une baisse de la liquidité habituelle en fin d’année et des cas de covid à nouveau en hausse, un repli semble logique», affirme Emmanuel Cau de Barclays. Toujours selon lui, Malgré sa violente baisse de ce vendredi, le CAC 40 évolue encore à des niveaux largement supérieurs à son pic d’avant-crise de 6.111 points.
Impact majeur sur les autres marchés boursiers du continent, la peur s’installe donc pour la reprise de l’économie mondiale.
Plusieurs pays européens, comme le Royaume-Uni, l’Italie ou l’Allemagne, ont déjà pris des mesures visant à interdire la venue des vols de l’Afrique du Sud à cause de ce variant qui serait, pour l’instant, résistible aux vaccins contre le covid-19.
