La mairie de Pétion-Ville, sous la direction de Kesnel NORMIL, a adressé une lettre ce mercredi 27 novembre au Père Frantzy PETIT-HOMME, curé de la paroisse Notre-Dame de l’Immaculée Conception, pour annoncer la suspension des activités religieuses dans la commune.
Le « Neuvain de l’Immaculée Conception », un événement annuel prévu au Parc Sainte-Thérèse, est directement concerné. La mairie justifie cette décision par la nécessité de protéger les vies humaines face aux risques élevés liés à l’organisation de rassemblements publics.
Dans sa lettre, la municipalité insiste sur le caractère temporaire de cette mesure et appelle à la compréhension des autorités religieuses. Elle souligne que cette décision vise uniquement à garantir la sécurité des citoyens en cette période critique.
Les autorités locales assurent qu’elles travaillent activement avec les forces de l’ordre pour rétablir un climat de paix et de sérénité. Malgré ces assurances, cette suspension suscite des réactions mitigées entre inquiétude et tristesse parmi les habitants de Pétion-Ville.
