Le Gouvernement haïtien a inauguré, hier vendredi 22 mai 2026, à Vivy-Mitchell, la première Maison d’accueil destinée aux femmes et aux filles victimes de violences. Cette initiative, portée par le Ministère à la Condition Féminine et aux Droits des Femmes (MCFDF), prévoit l’implantation de plusieurs centres similaires dans différentes autres régions du pays.
Cette structure dédiée aux survivantes de violences basées sur le genre (VBG) a été inaugurée en présence du Premier Ministre Alix Didier FILS-AIMÉ, de plusieurs membres du Gouvernement ainsi que de partenaires internationaux. Présentée comme un espace sécurisé, la Maison offrira aux victimes un accompagnement axé sur la protection, l’écoute et la prise en charge psychosociale. Le projet est mis en œuvre avec l’appui d’organisations engagées dans la défense des droits humains.
Lors de son intervention, le Chef du Gouvernement a annoncé que le financement de ces centres sera intégré au prochain budget rectificatif de l’État. Selon lui, cette mesure vise à renforcer les dispositifs de protection en faveur des femmes confrontées à différentes formes de violences.
Pour sa part, la Ministre à la Condition féminine et aux Droits des femmes, Pédrica SAINT-JEAN, a précisé que les bénéficiaires recevront un accompagnement psychosocial adapté à leur situation. Elle a également souligné que ces espaces proposeront des services d’écoute, d’assistance et d’orientation aux survivantes.
Les autorités gouvernementales prévoient déjà l’ouverture de quatre autres centres dans plusieurs départements du pays, notamment dans l’Ouest, l’Artibonite, le Centre et la Grand’Anse. À travers cette initiative, le Gouvernement affirme vouloir apporter une réponse institutionnelle aux violences basées sur le genre.
