739 nouveaux policiers dont 213 femmes ont officiellement été gradués à l’École de Police de Frères, à Pétion-Ville, ce vendredi 10 janvier 2024. Ces agents, issus de la 34ᵉ promotion de la Police nationale d’Haïti (PNH), rejoignent les rangs de l’institution pour contribuer aux efforts de rétablissement de l’ordre et de la sécurité dans le pays.
Baptisée « Promotion Vertières », la cérémonie a vu la participation du Président du Conseil présidentiel de Transition, Son Excellence Monsieur Leslie VOLTAIRE, du Premier ministre, Son Excellence Monsieur Alix Didier FILS-AIMÉ, ainsi que du Haut Commandement de la PNH et des Forces Armées d’Haïti (FAD’H). Plusieurs représentants du Corps diplomatique étaient également présents pour marquer l’importance de cet événement.
Le commissaire divisionnaire Sem PRÉDESTIN, Directeur de l’École de Police, a souligné les compétences acquises par les recrues au cours de leurs six mois de formation. Les nouveaux policiers ont été initiés aux sciences policières, au droit, aux techniques de tir, au maniement d’armes et aux arts martiaux. Cette préparation rigoureuse vise à les rendre immédiatement opérationnels dans des unités spécialisées de la PNH.
Lors de son discours, le Directeur a mis l’accent sur l’importance de l’éthique dans l’exercice de leurs fonctions. Il a exhorté les nouveaux policiers à éviter les pièges de la corruption et à adopter un comportement exemplaire envers la population et les autorités civiles.
«La population haïtienne ne mérite pas de subir davantage les mauvais spectacles et les épreuves qu’elle endure depuis des années. Il est temps que chacun, ainsi que les biens et les marchandises, puissent circuler librement dans tout le pays», a-t-il déclaré avec fermeté, appelant à un engagement renouvelé pour restaurer la paix et l’ordre publics.
Alors que le pays fait face à une montée inédite des gangs armés, ces nouveaux policiers représentent un renfort crucial. Ils seront déployés dans les unités spécialisées de la PNH, avec pour mission de rétablir la sécurité et la confiance entre les citoyens et les institutions.
