Crise en Haïti: Le BINUH mise sur la transition politique pour un retour à l’ordre et la sécurité
Le Bureau Intégré des Nations-Unies en Haïti (BINUH) dit souhaiter la réussite de la transition politique en parallèle aux efforts de sécurité. Il réitère son appel à tous les acteurs politiques à redoubler d’efforts pour tenir leurs engagements afin d’avancer vers le rétablissement de la paix sociale et l’organisation d’élections générales dans le pays.
Dans un communiqué publié ce lundi 16 décembre 2024, le BINUH attire l’attention du gouvernement de transition sur la situation de la population haïtienne qui continue de faire face à des actes de violences généralisés des hommes armés dans la capitale haïtienne et ses alentours.
Il souligné aussi que les efforts en matière de sécurité ne permettront des avancées concrètes et durables que s’ils sont effectivement accompagnés, en parallèle et dans un esprit de consensus au service de l’intérêt général, par des progrès vers l’organisation dès que possible d’élections crédibles, participatives et inclusives sur tout le territoire national.
L’agence onusienne a salué les efforts continus du Groupe des Éminentes Personnalités de la CARICOM dans la crise pluridimensionnelle qui ronge le pays, tout en souhaitant que les parties prenantes jouent pleinement leur rôle afin de garantir la réussite de la transition qui est en péril.
