Après une accalmie depuis le soulèvement des gangs en février dernier, les enlèvements reprennent à Port-au-Prince. Ce dimanche 7 juillet, des individus armés ont kidnappé un homme d’affaires et son épouse en plein centre-ville.
Près de l’avenue Christophe, à proximité de l’église de Dieu Eben-Ezer, les malfaiteurs ont enlevé un entrepreneur et sa femme. La police est intervenue rapidement, permettant de libérer la femme saine et sauve et de récupérer leur voiture. Cependant, les ravisseurs ont réussi à s’échapper avec le mari.
Ces enlèvements surviennent deux semaines après l’arrivée en Haïti de 400 agents de la Mission multinationale en soutien à la sécurité.
