Mardis de la Nation : Focus sur la culture, la protection civile et les droits des femmes lors de la 23e édition
Quatre personnalités ont pris la parole, abordant des thématiques variées allant de la culture à la protection civile, en passant par la sécurité sociale et les droits des femmes, lors de la 23e édition des Mardis de la Nation, tenue, ce mardi 26 août 2025, dans les locaux de la Primature.
Introduit par le Secrétaire d’État à la Communication, Bendgy TILIAS, le Directeur Général de la Direction Nationale du Livre (DNL), Hernst SAINT-LOUIS, a rappelé que l’institution, créée en 2006 et placée sous la tutelle du Ministère de la Culture, œuvre à promouvoir le livre et la culture. À la tête de la DNL depuis le 20 mai 2025, il a souligné sa volonté de déconcentrer les services afin que plusieurs villes du pays bénéficient d’opportunités équivalentes. Son mot d’ordre reste clair : « Pòtoprens pa Ayiti ».
Parmi ses initiatives, il a présenté un concours annuel de bande dessinée, dont la prochaine édition aura lieu le 28 octobre, jour de la fête de la DNL, ainsi que les Vendredis de la DNL et le programme « Ann li sou plas », à travers une bibliothèque ambulante dans plusieurs espaces publics. Une émission culturelle, « Randevou liv ak lekti », en partenariat avec la RTNH, devrait débuter la semaine prochaine. Monsieur SAINT-LOUIS a également annoncé la préparation d’un grand événement en 2026 pour célébrer le centenaire de l’écrivain René DEPESTRE.
La Protection civile renforce sa vigilance
Le Directeur Général de la Protection Civile, Emmanuel PIERRE, a présenté le système national de gestion des risques et désastres. Il a rappelé que l’institution dispose de dix directions départementales et six directions techniques. Malgré une saison cyclonique relativement calme, des préparations ont été menées : réapprovisionnement des dépôts, prépositionnement de matériels et curage de canaux dans plusieurs villes. Des centres départementaux ont été rénovés dans la Grande-Anse, le Sud et les Nippes, ainsi que cinq centres communaux, dont Chardonnières, Côteaux et Aquin. Un protocole d’accord avec l’OFATMA a été signé pour offrir une assurance aux bénévoles de la Protection civile.
L’OFATMA souhaite renforcer sa couverture et ses services
Le Directeur Général de l’Office d’Assurance Accidents du Travail, Maladie et Maternité (OFATMA), Vikerson GARNIER, a présenté les efforts de régularisation d’au moins 600 contrats et le renforcement des capacités des cadres en finances publiques. Depuis février 2025, plus de 12 000 dossiers ont été traités et 6 000 cartes distribuées. Un centre d’appel et une carte d’assurance informatisée sont en préparation pour réduire les délais de traitement.
Parmi ses projets, il a annoncé la création d’un hôpital national de référence et des partenariats avec des instances internationales pour les cas non pris en charge localement, ainsi qu’une convention avec l’Université d’État d’Haïti pour couvrir ses étudiants.
Le Ministère à la Condition féminine défend l’égalité de genre
La Ministre Pédrica SAINT-JEAN a présenté les retombées de sa participation à la 16e Conférence régionale sur les femmes, tenue au Mexique du 12 au 15 août 2025. Elle a rappelé les engagements d’Haïti pour lutter contre la pauvreté des femmes, favoriser l’accès équitable à l’éducation et aux services sociaux, et mettre en œuvre la politique nationale d’égalité femmes-hommes.
Elle a également évoqué la formation des femmes dans des métiers traditionnellement masculins et annoncé la participation d’Haïti aux célébrations du centenaire des relations avec le Mexique.
La 23e édition des Mardis de la Nation a permis de présenter plusieurs initiatives du Gouvernement en matière de culture, de protection civile, de sécurité sociale et d’égalité de genre, tout en soulignant que l’impact réel de ces initiatives reste à mesurer sur le terrain.
