Le Conseil Présidentiel de Transition (CTP), s’est entretenu, le 4 juillet 2024, avec le Conseil Supérieur du Pouvoir Judiciaire (CSPJ) autour du fonctionnement et les défis du système judiciaire.
Les Conseillers-Présidents Emmanuel Vertilaire, Louis Gérald Gilles et Smith Augustin ont rencontré les membres du Conseil Supérieur du Pouvoir Judiciaire (CSPJ). Emmanuel Vertilaire a salué le dévouement des magistrats, qui continuent à servir la population malgré les conditions précaires, et a souligné l’importance de leurs efforts pour un système judiciaire efficace et équitable.
Le consellier Smith Augustin a demandé un rapport détaillé sur le fonctionnement du système judiciaire et la présentation du budget du CSPJ avant la conférence budgétaire. De son côté, Louis Gérald Gilles a remercié le CSPJ et a plaidé pour une augmentation des salaires des magistrats tout en exposant les problèmes actuels auxquels ils sont confrontés.
Le président du CSPJ, Jean Joseph Lebrun, a félicité le Conseil Présidentiel de Transition pour cette initiative, mettant en lumière l’importance de cette séance de travail pour aborder les défis du système judiciaire. Les Conseillers présidentiels ont demandé au CSPJ de fournir un document détaillant les problèmes du système judiciaire.
Une autre séance de travail est prévue avec le Premier Ministre, les Ministres de la Justice et des Finances, et le CSPJ, afin de discuter des solutions aux divers problèmes, notamment le dysfonctionnement de certains tribunaux et le faible budget alloué au CSPJ. Cette réunion marque un pas important vers la réforme judiciaire en Haïti, soulignant la détermination des dirigeants à améliorer les conditions de travail des magistrats et à renforcer l’efficacité du système judiciaire pour le bien de la population.
