Le Ministre de la Culture et de la Communication, Patrick DELATOUR, a présenté, ce mardi 12 août 2025, lors de la 21e édition des Mardis de la Nation, le plan officiel des activités prévues pour commémorer la cérémonie historique du Bois Caïman, célébrée chaque 14 août.
Au programme, la mise en valeur et la protection du site du Bois Caïman, déclaré d’utilité publique. Le Ministre a annoncé le bornage officiel de l’espace, la construction d’un mausolée dédié aux 21 Nations ainsi que l’organisation d’un atelier réunissant intellectuels, leaders religieux et acteurs culturels pour définir l’affectation des fonds alloués. Des manifestations artistiques, musique, théâtre, animations populaires impliqueront directement les communautés locales.
En parallèle, plusieurs chantiers de restauration patrimoniale sont en cours : la Citadelle, le Palais Sans Souci, la Chapelle de Milot, ainsi que la transformation d’anciennes prisons en centres culturels à Jacmel et au Cap-Haïtien. L’Institut de Sauvegarde du Patrimoine National (ISPAN) prépare également un inventaire des sites historiques endommagés ou incendiés, afin de mieux cibler les futures interventions.
Pour soutenir les fêtes champêtres à travers le pays, un budget global de plusieurs dizaines de millions de gourdes a été réparti entre les dix départements, dont 15 millions pour le Nord, 7 millions pour le Nord-Est, 5 millions pour le Nord-Ouest et la Grande-Anse, ou encore 4 millions pour le Sud et le Sud-Est. Un montant additionnel de 30 millions de gourdes sera investi pour élargir l’accès à Internet dans une dizaine de villes supplémentaires.
« Ces initiatives visent à faire du 14 août et des fêtes patronales une commémoration marquante, à la hauteur de notre patrimoine et de nos traditions», a déclaré Patrick Delatour.
Malgré un contexte économique et social marqué par de nombreux défis, la commémoration du 14 août 2025 s’annonce comme un moment de rassemblement fort pour le pays. Dans plusieurs villes de province, les fêtes patronales battent leur plein, offrant aux populations locales un espace de joie, de solidarité et de préservation des traditions. Ces célébrations, soutenues par les initiatives gouvernementales, traduisent la résilience et l’attachement profond des Haïtiens à leur histoire et à leur culture, même en période de crise.

She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There
